Novam Studio / Long video to short clips

Turn long videos into short clips with AI

Cutting a one-hour recording into shorts by hand means scrubbing a timeline, guessing which moments will land, resizing for vertical, typing captions and exporting everything again for each platform. Clip Studio, the clipping tool inside Novam Studio, does that pipeline for you: you give it a long video and it gives back finished short clips.

This page explains what happens between "upload" and "clips ready", what you can control, and what the tool does not do, so you can decide whether it fits the way you publish.

How Clip Studio turns one long video into many clips

You start by getting a video into Clip Studio. You can upload a file, or paste a link from YouTube, Twitch, Kick or TikTok and let the Studio fetch it. The video is transcribed with Whisper, a speech-to-text model, so every word has a timestamp.

An AI model then reads that transcript and selects the stretches most worth clipping. You choose which model does the analysis from the options in the tool. Because the choice is based on what is actually said, the clips start and end on sentences instead of arbitrary time marks.

Each selected moment is cut, reframed to the format you picked, captioned, and rendered. When the job finishes you get a library of clips you can preview, compare and send on.

What you control before the clips are made

Captions, music and branding are part of the render

Clips are not handed back raw. If you leave captions on, they are burned into the video and synced word by word from the transcript, with a choice of fonts, text and outline colors, size and on-screen position, and a live preview before you commit.

You can add a music bed under the original audio at a volume you set, using the built-in track library or a track you upload. A watermark or logo can be applied to every clip, and the Studio can auto-mute profanity at the word level.

From clips to published posts

Clip Studio sits inside a content operating system, so the clips do not need to be downloaded and re-uploaded elsewhere. Finished clips can be sent straight to Drafts, where the AI can write a caption for each platform in your brand voice. From there you schedule them on the calendar for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X and LinkedIn, and publishing runs in the cloud even when your computer is off.

If you run more than one channel or client, brand workspaces keep accounts, voice, hashtags and watermark separate, and a finished clip can be sent from one brand to another.

Who this works best for

The workflow is built for people who already record long-form material: podcasters, streamers, interviewers, coaches, and creators who publish long YouTube videos and want a steady stream of shorts from them. It is a poor fit if your source material has no speech, because moments are chosen from the transcript.

Review the clips before you post them. The selection is automated and you may want a different cut; you can adjust your prompt and run it again.

Try it on your own footage. Create an account, connect a platform and run your first long video through Clip Studio.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a link instead of uploading a file?

Yes. Clip Studio has a field where you can paste a YouTube, Twitch, Kick or TikTok URL and fetch the video, in addition to uploading a file.

How does it decide which parts become clips?

The video is transcribed with Whisper and an AI model analyzes the transcript to pick the strongest moments. You set how many clips you want and how long they should be.

What shapes and sizes can I export?

Portrait 9:16, landscape 16:9 and square 1:1 as the main orientation, plus extra renders in 9:16, 16:9, 1:1 and 4:5 from the same job.

Do the clips come with captions?

Yes, if you keep captions on. They are burned in and synced word by word, and you can change font, colors, size and position.

Can it post the clips for me?

Clips can be sent to Drafts and scheduled to YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X and LinkedIn from the same app.
